Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education:Â Candidates should have completion of Secondary School (Grade 12)
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have education in Graphic Design, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and be eligible for the College Student Employment Program (CSEP)
- The candidates should be currently enrolled in a full-time program. The following students are not eligible: Second Career, Apprenticeship Programs, International students, Algonquin College employees paying a reduced tuition, Collaborative programs with the University of Ottawa or Carleton University, and all programs that are not Ministry-approved
- The candidates should be a Canadian citizen, a Permanent Resident, or a Protected Person or Convention Refugee within the meaning of subsection 95(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (Canada) prior to the application deadline date
- The candidates should demonstrate a financial need by successfully applying for OSAP or out-of-province financial aid funding
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to greet MakerSpace users and provide them with basic orientation for low-tech equipment
- The candidates should be able to assist students with class projects using the laser and vinyl cutters
- The candidates should be able to assist users in filling out service requests for 3D printing
- The candidates should be able to assist with the delivery of MakerSpace workshops and assist in giving tours of the MakerSpace
- The candidates should be able to assist with the preparation of workshop supplies and promote MakerSpace services from the mobile “Innovation Station”
- The candidates should be able to assist with campus-wide promotions for events such as AC Day One and the Open House
- The candidates should be able to assist the technicians with the production of awards and gifts for other College departments and perform other duties
