Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Post-Secondary education in social sciences
Experience: Candidates should have extensive work experience in program analysis, policy development, administration and strategic planning

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates must provide and maintain a satisfactory criminal record check
  • The candidates must be able to obtain a satisfactory Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check
  • The candidates must be able to work overtime and on weekends

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • The candidates must be able to obtain a satisfactory Enhanced Internal Screening
  • The candidates should have strong written communication skills and have a proven ability to work with publicly sensitive issues using appropriate political acumen
  • The candidates should possess strong verbal communication skills with the ability to present to a variety of stakeholders
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to provide sound leadership in complex situations
  • The candidates should have experience building effective working relationships, consulting, and negotiating with critical interested parties
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to navigate and effectively implement change management principles, as well as facilitate and support their team in adapting to change
  • The candidates should have the ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs and demonstrate the ability to lead and manage teams effectively
  • The candidates should possess an in-depth understanding of government policies, practices, and expertise in providing guidance on The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, and related activities

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to report to the Director of Access and Privacy
  • The candidates should be able to lead a team of analysts who provide support and leadership in the application of The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act to all program areas across government
  • The candidates should be able to lead and collaborate between branches in the department and across government to deliver on the mandate of the department
  • The candidates should be able to report on performance measures, including balanced scorecards
