Requirements:

Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have at least 7 years of experience in an Airline, MOC, or Line Maintenance leadership role
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to deal effectively with internal and external customers, demonstrate leadership skills
- The candidates should exhibit sound judgment and a strong sense of initiative in taking appropriate actions
- The candidates should have the ability to provide direction and clear instructions on technical matters
- The candidates should be capable of working with minimal supervision, the ability to analyze aircraft disruptions (delays/incidents) and recommend remedial actions through appropriate maintenance actions
- The candidates should show a willingness to work shifts and extended hours, demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess a valid A.M.E. M2 or E License or equivalent with at least one active endorsement on any aircraft type in the Air Canada fleet
- The candidates should demonstrate managerial courage to make and challenge decisions, possess proven knowledge of regulatory programs and agencies (such as the Maintenance Control Manual, Transport Canada, FAA)
- The candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent English communication skills, both oral and written
- The candidates should have completed external or internal management development, be proficient in computer applications such as Word, Excel, Email, and Window
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to act as the primary contact for ACM in the Operations Center, coordinating with the Chief Dispatcher, SOC Manager, OCMs, and ACM Planning to direct Line Maintenance or Contract Providers
- The candidate should be able to represent ACM during operational calls to provide real-time aircraft status updates and assess out-of-service risks, act on behalf of the PRM during off-hours to remove aircraft from service if safety is compromised
- The candidate should be able to handle complex situations and make autonomous decisions to ensure aircraft repairs are completed safely, in compliance with approved instructions, and in a timely manner
- The candidate should be able to monitor aircraft defects, develop repair plans, and prioritize the rectification of unserviceable aircraft, represent maintenance operations during MEL reviews and manage MEL extensions using the Maintenance Computer program
- The candidate should be able to manage return-to-service costs for aircraft at outstations by coordinating with SOC, ACM transportation, AOG teams, and the Purchasing department
- The candidate should be able to prioritize and manage significant operational events or incidents by developing repair plans and mitigation strategies, facilitate and lead daily operational and out-of-service calls, and coordinate expertise and support services for complex AOG situations
- The candidate should be able to review and prioritize overnight maintenance issues in collaboration with Planning, SOC, and MOC teams, prioritize MEL defects that have operational impacts and coordinate repairs across ACM stakeholders
- The candidate should be able to initiate and manage the Flight Permit process, ensuring aircraft fitness and safety for flight, coordinate ad hoc maintenance for out-of-service aircraft, including repeat inspections and inbound defect resolution at outstations
- The candidate should be able to provide accurate out-of-service estimates to SOC and prioritize maintenance work accordingly, manage the Maintenance Operation Controller, Cabin Specialist, and MOC Coordinator teams, ensuring they are properly trained for their respective functions
