Raven Recycling Society based in Whitehorse, YT is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Material handler. Raven Recycling Society is open to kids aged 4-16. By collecting refundable beverage containers and bringing them to your local depot, you’ll earn points that can be exchanged for great prizes. We recycle over 30 different household commodities including plastics, paper, metals, electronics, textiles, batteries and other materials. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Vehicle and equipment experience: Industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts, Dollies and hand trucks
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and be physically demanding
• The candidates should be able to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
• The candidates should be able to handle weight Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
• The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads
• The candidates should be able to work in wet/damp area, noisy area, outdoors, hot area, dusty area, and cold/refrigerated area

• The candidate should be hardworking, dependable, and reliable
• The candidates should have adaptability, positive attitude, integrity, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
• If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to build pallets, load, unload and move products and materials by hand or with basic material handling equipment
• The candidates should be able to operate a variety of equipment to load, unload and move materials and products
• The candidates should be able to weigh materials and goods, provide customer service
• The candidates should be able to make labels and attach to goods
• The candidates should be able to pack and unpack goods, wrap goods
• The candidates should be able to hazardous products handling and storage
• The candidates should be able to organize and maintain inventory
