Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be 16 years of age or older
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to zone the department effectively and rotate stock and check for expired products regularly
- The candidates should be able to ensure that merchandise is properly signed and priced and adhere to standards and policies for cold chain compliance, including thermometer calibrations, temperature recording, food handling, product rotation, sell-by dates, and expiration dates
- The candidates should be able to take orders for Deli Department merchandise and slice and prepare items such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken while providing requested assistance
- The candidates should be able to follow proper procedures for ordering, clearance, markups, markdowns, signing, flagging, pricing and labels and follow Health and Safety guidelines consistently
- The candidates should be able to prepare deli food orders, including meat and cheese, utilizing slicers, stackers, and other utensils; prepare chicken using a rotisserie oven and deep fryer; and fill prepared salads and side dishes for placement into display areas and specialty orders from customers
