Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have High School Diploma or GED preferred
Experience: Candidates should have Meat cutting experience
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have Food Safety Certification – Level 1 on their first day in the position
- The candidates should be able to pass the Costco meat cutting test
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to inspect and reassemble equipment sanitized the previous night
- The candidates should be able to rework and restock the display case to assess daily production needs and rotate the product
- The candidates should be able to receive and rotate meat in the cooler
- The candidates should be able to scan inventory, rework, and destroy as needed
- The candidates should be able to bring cases of meat, up to 80 lbs, from the cooler and empty contents onto the meat cutting or other preparation area
- The candidates should be able to cut and trim meat to Costco specification using band saws, knives, or an automatic slicer
- The candidates should be able to operate tenderizing machines and roast tyers while following safety and security procedures
- The candidates should be able to operate a meat grinder, dump meat into the top of the machine, and check the fat content of each batch from the grinder
- The candidates should be able to follow proper department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency of the finished product
- The candidates should be able to transfer cut and ground meat to styro trays and load them onto a large plastic tray, then transfer to a large wheeled rack for wrappers
- The candidates should be able to assist with wrapping and stocking the meat case according to the Meat Manager’s plan for product presentation and merchandising
- The candidates should be able to clean and sanitize the area throughout the day, complying with health code requirements such as sanitation standards and maintaining proper temperatures
- The candidates should be able to follow all Sanitation Standards Operating Procedures (SSOPs)
- The candidates should be able to perform routine maintenance for machinery, equipment, and implements
- The candidates should be able to set up and perform a seafood road show as described in the Costco Seafood Road Show manual
- The candidates should be able to provide and ensure prompt and courteous member service
