Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of Journeyman Certificate
Experience: Candidates should have 5 years Mechanical Experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to diagnose, repair, maintain, and overhaul diesel Toyota equipment
  • The candidates should have a strong safety focus and consistently adhere to safety protocols and be self-motivated and able to work independently

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of mechanical experience, with experience in the automotive trade being desired
  • The candidates should have automotive trade certification, possess Ontario or inter-provincial trade qualification
  • The candidates should be accredited in U/G common core modules and accreditation in specialty modules

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to check light vehicles for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • The candidates should be able to perform component removal, installation, alignment, troubleshooting, and repair and diagnose faults or malfunctions using testing equipment to determine the extent of repairs
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of power trains and electrical schematics
  • The candidates should be able to perform primary maintenance (PM) services on light duty mining equipment
  • The candidates should be able to adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools
  • The candidates should be able to test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications
  • The candidates should be able to clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on man carriers
  • The candidates should be able to perform repair work on light duty trucks, man carriers, and light duty mining equipment
  • The candidates should be able to open work-orders, find parts, and complete parts lists using all available resources
  • The candidates should be able to perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor, Mobile Maintenance
