Salary: $20.00 to $35.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 32 to 43 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Arnprior, ON
Shifts: Day, Overtime, Flexible Hours, To be determined
Work setting: Relocation costs not covered by employer

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Assembly line
Equipment and machinery experience: Overhead crane, power tools, small hand tools, nail guns, pneumatic devices, precision measuring instruments
Specialization or experience: Green economy sector
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working in dusty environments and able to work in noisy conditions
  • The candidates should be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and possess strong attention to detail
  • The candidates should be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as required, and comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking during work hours
  • The candidates should have good hand-eye coordination and be able to handle heavy loads as part of their duties, possessing manual dexterity for various tasks, Overtime may be required for certain assignments, and the candidates should be physically fit to meet the demands of the job, prepared for repetitive tasks, and able to stand for extended periods
  • The candidates should be capable of handling weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs) as necessary

  • The candidates should exhibit excellent oral communication skills and demonstrate flexibility in adapting to different tasks and situations, being organized is a key attribute for this role, and reliability is essential in meeting job responsibilities consistently
  • The candidates should be effective team players, collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assemble wood products such as window sashes, doors, boxes, pallets, ladders, and barrels according to specifications and read blueprints, written specifications, and production drawings to ensure accurate assembly of wood products
  • The candidates should be able to record information on products inspected to maintain quality control standards, inspect wood products for conformance to quality standards, and mark defective parts or products for repair
  • The candidates should be able to pack items for shipping and distribution in a safe and secure manner, trim, smooth, and shape surfaces of wood products to meet quality standards, and make minor adjustments and repairs to wood products as needed
  • The candidates should be able to train staff on assembly techniques and quality standards for wood products
