Salary: $45,000 to $75,000 annually (To be negotiated) for 35 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Chapleau, ON
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, On Call, Early Morning, Morning
Work setting: Maintenance, Relocation costs not covered by employer, Service, Repair, Machine set-up, Sawmill, Pulp and paper mill
Supervision: Sawmill machine operators, Pulp mill machine operators, Other wood processing machine operators, Labourers in wood, pulp and paper processing

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language and should be Bilingual
Education: Candidates should have another trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Area of specialization: Start-up and testing, Rigging and handling, Troubleshooting 
Security and safety: Bondable, Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working at heights, working in noisy environments, and resilient to odors
  • The candidates should be experienced in working in confined spaces and adaptable to dusty conditions
  • The candidates should be capable of handling heavy loads, prepared for physically demanding tasks, and have a strong attention to detail
  • The candidates should be proficient in bending, crouching, and kneeling, open to overtime requirements, and comfortable standing for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to work effectively under pressure, thrive in a fast-paced work environment, and be skilled in handling repetitive tasks
  • The candidates should possess manual dexterity, have good hand-eye coordination, and demonstrate the ability to distinguish between colors
  • The candidates should be adaptable to sitting for extended periods, able to manage a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • The candidates should be able to handle a large caseload, meet tight deadlines, and capable of lifting up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) and up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The candidates should be collaborative team players and possess efficient interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should demonstrate flexibility in their approach to work and perform tasks with a high level of accuracy
  • The candidates should be dedicated to client focus, exercise sound judgment in their decision-making, and uphold values and ethics in their work
  • The candidates should be recognized for their reliability and maintain a high level of organization

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions, repair or replace defective machinery parts, and perform routine maintenance work on machinery
  • The candidates should be able to set up machines and equipment, recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality, and ensure that systems and equipment are operating efficiently with proper maintenance and repairs
  • The candidates should be able to resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity
