Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or Intermediate or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have 1 – 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should have a valid Millwright Journeyperson Certificate
- The candidate should hold Red Seal certification
- The candidate should have extensive mechanical knowledge, including power transmission, pneumatics, and hydraulics
- The candidate should possess knowledge of conveyors, industrial/stationary engines, pumps/compressor, grinders, welding equipment, electrical/electronic controls, lathes/machining tools, power tools, fans/blowers, hydraulic systems, and high-speed packaging equipment
- The candidate should be highly motivated, demonstrating the ability to work well in a team and alone with minimal supervision
- The candidate should have a sense of urgency and attention to detail are essential qualities for the candidate
- The candidate should be prepared for some heavy lifting if required
- The candidate should have basic computer ability, along with strong communication skills, is expected
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to install, troubleshoot, and repair complex production equipment with minimal supervision
- The candidate should be able to operate production equipment and check performance as required
- The candidate should be able to have a strong grasp of PM (preventative maintenance) procedures
- The candidate should be able to carry out oral/printed work requests and apply corrective action
- The candidate should be able to perform regular work orders and account for inventory and labor on a computerized maintenance program
- The candidate should be able to read and understand mechanical drawings/schematics
- The candidate should be able to possess skills in machining and fabricating for equipment repairs and/or upgrades
- The candidate should be able to enhance equipment performance, recommending improvements and implementing them
- The candidate should be able to understand and adhere to all plant Food Safety and Health and Safety Policies
- The candidate should be able to ensure all job-related operations are in compliance with GMPs, HACCP, WHMIS, and health & safety requirements
- The candidate should be able to perform other duties as assigned
