Work setting: Machinery installation, maintenance, repair, and overhaul
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 to less than 5 years
Area of specialization: Shutdown operations, rigging and handling, troubleshooting, bearing, seals, and packing, and welding
Own tools/equipment: Tools and steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification, Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Endorsement, and Welder Trade Certification
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working at heights and able to work in confined spaces
- The candidates should be capable of handling heavy loads and be prepared for physically demanding tasks
- The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail in their work and be proficient in bending, crouching, and kneeling
- The candidates should be able to work effectively under pressure
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions, repair or replace defective machinery parts, and perform routine maintenance work on machinery
- The candidates should be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications, assemble machinery and equipment (prior to installation), and install machinery and equipment
- The candidates should be able to operate hoisting and lifting equipment
