Shifts: Day, Flexible Hours
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence, Willing to travel
Work setting: Machinery installation, various locations, maintenance, service, repair, overhaul, new construction, and machine set-up
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Start-up and testing, shutdown operations, rigging and handling, troubleshooting, bearing, seals, and packing, laser levelling/aligning, optical alignment, and computerized alignment
Equipment and machinery experience: Conveyor, hydraulic system, lathes and other machining tools, pneumatic system, power tools, pumps and compressors, turbines, and hand tools
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Tools
Credentials: Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification, Construction Millwright Trade Certification, and Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Endorsement
Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract), Bondable
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working at heights, in noisy environments, in areas with various odors, and in confined spaces
- The candidates should be able to work in dusty conditions, handle heavy loads, and perform physically demanding tasks
- The candidates should have excellent attention to detail, be comfortable with bending, crouching, and kneeling, willing to work overtime when required, able to stand for extended periods, work under pressure, and lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have excellent oral communication skills
- The candidates should be team players
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to coach and instruct apprentices, detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions, and construct foundations for machinery
- The candidates should be able to repair or replace defective machinery parts, perform routine maintenance work on machinery, and read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
- The candidates should be able to assemble machinery and equipment (prior to installation), install machinery and equipment, and operate hoisting and lifting equipment
