CHEP Canada Inc was established to provide efficient handling of defence supplies during World War II. We manage the world’s largest pool of reusable pallets and containers. We promote the shared use of our platforms among supply chain participants under a circular ‘share and reuse’ model known as pooling. We are known to provide satisfaction to our customers, that they don’t have to go to any one else after getting the best services from us. Shifts: Evening, Night, Weekend and Overtime
Work Setting: Maintenance, service, repair, overhaul and machine set-up
Work site environment: Candidates should work in at heights, noisy and dusty place
Security and safety: Criminal record should checked
Own tools/equipment: Candidates should have steel-toed safety boots
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates need experience of 3 years to less than 5 years
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Candidates must have Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Endorsement
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be physically strong
- The candidate should be able to pay attention to detail
- The candidate should be able for bending, crouching, kneeling
- The candidate should be able to work overtime
- The candidate should be able to stand for extended periods
- The candidate should be able to work under pressure
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should have an excellent oral communication
- The candidate should have an excellent written communication
- The candidate should be a team player
- The candidate should have knowledge of welding techniques like Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW)
- The candidate should have experience of equipment and mechinery like conveyor, electrical and electronic controls, fans and blowers, high speed packaging equipment, hydraulic system, pneumatic system, pumps and compressors, tool grinders, welding equipment and hand tools
- The candidate should have specialization on start-up and testing, shutdown operations, troubleshooting, bearing, seals and packing, stainless steel welding and laser levelling or aligning
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to coach and instruct apprentices
- The candidate should be able to detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions
- The candidate should be able to construct foundations for machinery
- The candidate should be able to repair or replace defective machinery parts
- The candidate should be able to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up
- The candidate should be able to perform routine maintenance work on machinery
- The candidate should be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
- The candidate should be able to assembling machinery and equipment (prior to installation)
- The candidate should be able to installing machinery and equipment
- The candidate should be able to operate hoisting and lifting equipment
