Work setting: Employer’s home, optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis (note: this is NOT a condition of employment), urban area, and work in employer’s/client’s home


Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years 
Credentials: First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Child Abuse Registry check, child welfare check, criminal record check, drug test, medical exam, reference required, and basic security clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should not smoke and should be scent-free
  • The candidates should be capable of handling heavy loads and be willing to work overtime as required
  • The candidates should be prepared for physically demanding tasks and able to handle repetitive tasks efficiently, as well as work under pressure
  • The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail and be able to handle weights up to 9 kg (20 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a strong client focus, possess efficient interpersonal skills, and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication abilities
  • The candidates should display flexibility in their approach to tasks, show initiative in their work, and exercise sound judgment
  • The candidates should be well-organized, demonstrate reliability, and be team players who effectively manage their time
  • The candidates should also demonstrate patience and uphold honesty in their actions

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position


  • The candidates should be able to assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of parents, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, and shop for food and household supplies
  • The candidates should be able to travel with the family on trips, assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties, and wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens
  • The candidates should be able to bathe, dress, and feed infants and children, discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, and instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
  • The candidates should be able to keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children, maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, and organize activities such as games and outings for children
  • The candidates should be able to prepare and serve nutritious meals, prepare infants and children for rest periods, and supervise and care for children
  • The candidates should be able to take children to and from school and to appointments, tend to the emotional well-being of children, and cook
