Salary: $35.00 to $42.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 30 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: North Vancouver, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Overtime, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Vehicle supplied by employer, Willing to travel regularly, Valid driver’s licence, Travel expenses paid by employer, and Public transportation is not available

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 to less than 5 years
Construction specialization: Driveways, Hydroelectric dams, Industrial, commercial and institutional, Pipelines, Residential, Roads and bridges, Sidewalks and curbs, Underground and tunnel work, and Water mains
Equipment and machinery experience: Air compressors, Air guns and Drills
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: Concrete pump operator Licence and First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Bondable, Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract)

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and capable of working in underground environments.
  • The candidates should be able to work in noisy conditions and dusty environments
  • The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work under tight deadlines.
  • The candidates should be physically capable of meeting demanding job requirements, including handling heavy loads.
  • The candidates should possess manual dexterity for intricate tasks and be able to handle weights up to 45 kg (100 lbs) as required.
  • The candidates should be willing to work overtime when necessary and handle repetitive tasks efficiently

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills and be reliable in fulfilling their responsibilities
  • The candidates should demonstrate flexibility in their approach to tasks and schedules, as well as be team players, capable of collaborating effectively with colleagues

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to load, unload, and transport construction materials safely and efficiently, as well as assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction to ensure proper installation
  • The candidates should be able to erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades as required for construction projects, and pave and rake asphalt to create smooth and even surfaces
  • The candidates should be able to mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt accurately and according to specifications, and tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction to ensure continuous operation and efficiency
  • The candidates should be able to assist the medical examiner in charge as needed, providing support in various tasks, and assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites under supervision
  • The candidates should be able to clean and pile salvaged materials for reuse or disposal
