Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program
- The candidates should be active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to effectively coordinate occupational therapy and allied health clinical services within a designated program or service area
- The candidates should be able to provide supervision and guidance to students and team members, fostering effective teamwork and communication
- The candidates should be able to function both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team, demonstrating leadership and contributing to the overall success of the team
- The candidates should be able to make timely and informed clinical decisions concerning patient assessment, intervention, discharge, and follow-up based on patient and family needs
- The candidates should be able to provide clinical leadership within the program or service area, offering guidance on complex clinical cases and ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective client care
- The candidates should be able to ensure that occupational therapy practices adhere to evidence-based principles and comply with relevant legislation, professional standards, and organizational policies and guidelines
- The candidates should be able to oversee the day-to-day operations of the assigned service area, including monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs, and providing support and feedback to staff
- The candidates should be able to actively participate in program development and operational planning activities, representing the department on committees or initiatives as needed
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with managers and other healthcare providers to determine staffing levels, prioritize caseloads, and optimize workflow within the service area
- The candidates should be able to fulfill various roles within the program or service area, including direct clinical service provision, consultation, education, and advocacy, as required by the position
