Work setting: Work in employer’s/client’s home
Target audience: Persons with physical disabilities, Persons with an intellectual disability, Adults
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 to less than 5 years
Credentials: CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be non-smoking
- The candidates should be able to handle a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a client focus, demonstrate dependability, and show initiative
- The candidates should exercise good judgment, demonstrate reliability, and be a team player
- The candidates should exhibit patience and demonstrate honesty
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to administer bedside and personal care, administer medications, and assist clients in water activities such as swimming
- The candidates should be able to assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, assist in regular exercise like walking, and change non-sterile dressings
- The candidates should be able to feed or assist in feeding, launder clothing and household linens, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, provide companionship
- The candidates should be able to provide personal care, shop for food and household supplies, prepare and serve nutritious meals, and cook
