Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Nursing Aide Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate, and Personal Support Worker Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records, Vulnerable sector check, Tuberculosis test, and Reference required
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to supply and empty bed pans with diligence and sensitivity, and take patients’ blood pressure, temperature, and pulse accurately and efficiently
- The candidates should be able to serve meal trays and feed patients with care and attention to dietary needs, and weigh, lift, turn, and position patients safely and in accordance with medical guidelines
- The candidates should be able to make beds and maintain patients’ rooms to ensure comfort and cleanliness, and bathe, dress, and groom patients with respect for their dignity and privacy
- The candidates should be able to transport patients in a wheelchair or stretcher safely and with consideration for their comfort, and collect specimens for testing following proper procedures
- The candidates should be able to administer first aid in emergency situations promptly and effectively, and provide personal care to patients, assisting with various activities as needed
- The candidates should be able to provide companionship to patients, offering emotional support and engagement, and perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a clean and hygienic environment
- The candidates should be able to launder clothing and household linens for patients as required, and administer bedside and personal care attentively and compassionately
- The candidates should be able to feed patients or assist in feeding them, ensuring they receive adequate nutrition, and assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene with sensitivity and professionalism
