Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to plan, coordinate, and delegate assignments, while providing coaching to Pharmacy colleagues
- The candidates should have a proven ability to drive and build the business, lead by example, and support enterprise programs
- The candidates should be committed to providing exceptional customer service, demonstrate independent thinking and decision-making skills when addressing issues or problems
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should possess superior customer relations skills and maintain a strong sense of professionalism
- The candidates should have strong problem-solving skills, including experience in formulating and executing action plans
- The candidates should have strong personal computing skills, and knowledge of Pharmacy systems would be considered a definite
- The candidates should ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed to maintain a healthy and safe work environment
- The candidates should complete all mandatory training and participate in voluntary continuing education workshops
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to acknowledge and assist all customers approaching the pharmacy in a courteous and professional manner, practice in accordance with all federal and provincial regulatory and legal requirements
- The candidate should be able to ensure all privacy and confidentiality standards are upheld, including consent management
- The candidate should be able to provide thorough counselling on prescription medications as well as over-the-counter and behind-the-counter products
- The candidate should be able to deliver professional services to the full extent of their expanded scope and capabilities
- The candidate should be clearly identifiable to the public as a pharmacy professional, ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions dispensed
- The candidate should be able to collaborate and communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals to support patient care, maintain all required records in compliance with legislation, standards of practice, and organizational policy
- The candidate should be able to control access to the dispensary to protect inventory integrity and patient confidentiality, manage and review pharmacy workflow queues daily to maintain operational efficiency
- The candidate should be able to routinely check and manage the ‘will call’ bins in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
