Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, or equivalent undergraduate pharmacy degree is required
Experience: Candidates should have post-graduate education, training in a relevant field of study, and/or completion of a hospital pharmacy residency program is preferred

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be members of the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists, licensed, or eligible for licensure, as a pharmacist in the Province of Manitoba
  • The candidates should have a working knowledge of drug distribution systems and information systems technology used in the provision of patient care in the ambulatory care setting or hospital, primary care, and retail setting, which is an asset
  • The candidates should possess the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population, given the cultural diversity of our region
  • The candidates should demonstrate proficiency in both official languages, which is essential for target and designated bilingual positions
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to respect confidentiality, including paper, electronic formats, and other mediums
  • The candidates should have a good work and attendance record
  • The candidates should complete and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate
  • The candidates should required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern HealthSanté Sud policy
  • The candidates should possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide services in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures, professional regulations and standards, and Provincial and Federal statutes
  • The candidates should be able to exercise the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed, and action to be taken on unusual matters
  • The candidates should be able to perform principle functions divided between clinical pharmacy activities and drug distribution services for inpatients and outpatients at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre and Area
  • The candidates should be able to function in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision, and values, as well as the policies of Southern Health‐Santé Sud
