Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have from an accredited university program or a bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy with related experience
- The candidates should have active or eligible registration and a practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta
- The candidates should have experience working with a wide variety of clients, including acute care, dementia, and surgery follow-up
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to provide supervision of students and team members and work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team while providing leadership to other healthcare professionals
- The candidates should be able to make day-to-day clinical decisions on patient and family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge, and follow-up
- The candidates should be able to make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases while providing clinical leadership within the program or service area
- The candidates should be able to ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics, and AHS policies and guidelines
- The candidates should be able to coordinate the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area, monitor care delivery, identify service needs, and assist other medical staff with caseload management
- The candidates should be able to complete chart audits and provide follow-up and feedback to staff on their performance and care delivery
- The candidates should be able to participate in program development and operational planning while representing the department on committees or programs
- The candidates should be able to make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, and caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers
- The candidates should be able to leverage available resources, including a network of experienced clinicians across Alberta, via email, phone, and virtual meetings
- The candidates should be able to transition to the Provincial Electronic Medical Record (Connect Care) system to ensure real-time patient information sharing and high-quality care
