Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should have effective self-management skills and demonstrate initiative, work effectively in an interdisciplinary environment
- The candidate should be aware that this position is physically demanding and requires repetitive lifting and transferring of patients and equipment
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program with related experience
- The candidate should have active or be eligible for registration and a practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta
- The candidate should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, recent experience providing physiotherapy interventions to patients in an acute hospital setting
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases, providing clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient, and effective client care
- The candidate should be able to ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence-based and aligned with Alberta legislation, regulations, professional standards of practice, the code of ethics, and AHS policies and guidelines
- The candidate should be able to coordinate the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area, monitor care delivery, identify service needs, and assist other medical staff with caseload management
- The candidate should be able to complete chart audits and provide follow-up and feedback to staff
- The candidate should be able to participate in program development and operational planning, as well as represent the department on committees or programs
- The candidate should be able to make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, and caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers
- The candidate should be able to access and utilize AHS’s province-wide network of experienced clinicians for support and skillset expansion through email, phone, and virtual meetings
