Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience
  • The candidates should have active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta
  • The candidates should hold Basic Cardiac Life Support (healthcare provider level) from the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services and be able to provide supervision of students and team members as assigned
  • The candidates should be able to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team providing leadership to other healthcare professionals
  • The candidates should be able to make day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge, and follow-up
  • The candidates should be able to make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient, and effective client care
  • The candidates should be able to ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics, and AHS policy and guidelines
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitor care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits, and providing follow-up and feedback to staff
  • The candidates should be able to participate in program development and operational planning and represent the department on committees or programs
  • The candidates should be able to make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers
