Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have 10 years of progressive experience in electrical construction within the mining industry
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have demonstrated leadership ability, a high level of energy, self-motivation, and strong organizational skills
- The candidates should possess exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be licensed Industrial Electricians with extensive experience in heavy industry construction
- The candidates should have experience in mine site operations, including underground electrical systems; this is considered an asset but not essential
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to provide project and safety leadership, facilitating the site construction team to ensure adherence to safety protocols and project objectives, review and approve Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), procedures, and work plans to ensure safe execution of all tasks
- The candidate should be able to maintain the highest standards of housekeeping throughout the construction site, communicate effectively with tradespeople and technical personnel to ensure clear and consistent information flow
- The candidate should be able to participate in the development of construction Request for Proposal (RFP) packages and contribute to subsequent award decisions, track all owner-supplied construction materials to ensure availability and proper utilization
- The candidate should be able to coordinate field activities among various site contractors to ensure seamless integration of work, inspect construction progress and quality in the field, ensuring compliance with project specifications
- The candidate should be able to monitor contractors’ daily labor, equipment, and material usage to ensure efficiency and accountability, report on project cost and quality metrics to stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making
- The candidate should be able to oversee construction quality to ensure that all work meets established standards and specifications, manage system commissioning processes to verify that all building systems perform according to design intent Wikipedia
- The candidate should be able to conduct workplace inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards, ensuring a safe working environment
- The candidate should be able to ensure operational readiness by coordinating final inspections and preparing systems for handover, manage construction interfaces between multiple contractors to prevent conflicts and ensure project cohesion
