Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience in customer service in a retail environment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be required to stand in one place for up to 3.5 hours at a time
- The candidates should be able to exercise physical effort in the handling of mail items weighing up to 22.7 kilograms (50 lbs) and carrying mail items weighing up to 15.9 kilograms (35 lbs) and bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, etc.
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to operate mail processing equipment (clearing jams, removing mail from sorting machines, etc.) where applicable
- The candidates should be able to transport mail between floors/sections using rolling or motorized equipment, where applicable
- The candidates should be able to operate a computer to key in data, when applicable
- The candidates should be required to review mail items for address accuracy, proper postage, etc.
- The candidates should have sales experience, which is an asset
- The candidates should have experience working in a production environment, which is an asset
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform a variety of sales and customer service activities to guarantee complete customer satisfaction
- The candidates should be able to operate a computer point of sale system efficiently
- The candidates should be able to maintain floor displays to ensure they are appealing and organized
- The candidates should be able to conduct merchandising and inventory control tasks
- The candidates should be able to maintain a high level of knowledge regarding postal products, services, and delivery procedures
- The candidates should be able to process various financial transactions, including handling cash, cheques, and debit and credit card payments
- The candidates should be able to receive, sort, sequence, and batch mail items accurately
