Salary: $22.00 to $26.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 35 to 44 hours per week

Work setting: Machinery manufacturer

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Metal forming or shaping operations experience: Bending, Flattening, Forming, Punching, and Straightening
Equipment and machinery experience: Brakes, Computer numerical control (CNC) machines, Drills, Hand tools, Micrometers, Overhead crane, Power presses, Punch presses, and Shears
Own tools/equipment: Mask, Steel-toed safety boots, and Tools

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail in all assigned tasks and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidates should possess strong hand-eye coordination for precise work and be capable of handling heavy loads efficiently
  • The candidates should exhibit manual dexterity for intricate tasks, be proficient in handling repetitive tasks with accuracy, be able to stand for extended periods during work shifts, and be capable of handling weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs) as part of job responsibilities

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be equipped with a mask, which is a mandatory safety requirement, and wear steel-toed safety boots to ensure protection in the workplace
  • The candidates should have their own tools for performing assigned tasks effectively

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to clean, lubricate, and maintain machinery and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and longevity
  • The candidates should be able to cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld, or shape and form metal stock into parts or products according to specifications
  • The candidates should be able to document completed work for record-keeping and quality control purposes accurately
  • The candidates should be able to set up, operate, and maintain one or more light or heavy metalworking machines proficiently
  • The candidates should be able to accurately interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions to complete tasks effectively
  • The candidates should be able to select and transport materials to the work area manually or using a crane or hoist safely and efficiently
  • The candidates should be able to troubleshoot, perform corrective action, or conduct minor repairs on machinery and equipment to maintain productivity and safety standards
