Shifts: 12 hour day and night shift work

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should be enrolled in Chemical Production and Power Engineering Technology program and have Secondary school diploma or equivalency
Experience: Candidates should have experience and in Refining or Chemical Product Operations

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should submit their most recent unofficial transcript(s) with their application
  • The candidates should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to work in a team environment
  • The candidates should be able to meet the essential physical demands of the position with reasonable accommodation, as per job demands analysis (JDA), including climbing stairs and some lifting
  • The candidates should be aware that, for applicants selected to be interviewed, pre-employment background screening will be required
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to safely perform normal operating tasks associated with the process technician role

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should maintain good academic standing in all subjects
  • The candidates should have course credits in Refining or Chemical Product Operations
  • The candidates should be familiar with electronic analyzing devices, possess fundamental piping skills, and have drafting and/or blueprint interpretation capabilities.
  • The candidates should have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
  • The candidates should have sound reasoning ability and mechanical aptitude
  • The candidates should be skilled in various computing software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel which are considered desirable assets/skills for the positions being offered
  • The candidates should be eligible to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide identification of equipment
  • The candidates should be able to conduct field monitoring and analysis
  • The candidates should be able to record data and develop reports
  • The candidates should be able to provide background data through research to establish specification documents for process service
  • The candidates should be able to conduct mechanical adjustments to designated equipment as part of the field-monitoring task
