Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have high School Diploma or equivalent (ex. General Education Development accreditation)
Experience: Candidates should have three to five years of supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be available to work overtime hours as required
  • The candidate should have a proven commitment to good manufacturing practices
  • The candidate should have a demonstrated ability to exercise effective judgment in business decisions

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should have well-developed English communication skills (verbal, written, reading)
  • The candidate should have excellent initiative and leadership skills
  • The candidate should have the ability to function in a fast-paced production environment
  • The candidate should have knowledge of HACCP and Provincial Health and Safety Regulations is an asset

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to provide leadership and direct supervision to hourly production employees in the assigned department
  • The candidate should be able to manage safe, cost-effective, and efficient production
  • The candidate should be able to continuously improve plant manufacturing resources, processes, efficiencies, and quality
  • The candidate should be able to ensure employee safety and overall compliance with Manitoba’s Workplace Health and Safety Act
  • The candidate should be able to ensure compliance with all HACCP procedures
  • The candidate should be able to maintain a positive working relationship with union members
  • The candidate should be able to administer the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • The candidate should be able to ensure open and effective communication with both hourly and salaried employees
