Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
Experience: Candidates should have 1 Year Experience in Acute Care and ER

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the physical ability to move swiftly and efficiently throughout healthcare facilities, attending to patients in various locations
  • The candidates should lift and assist in transferring patients, especially those with limited mobility
  • The candidates should possess fine motor skills for tasks such as administering medications, inserting IVs, and conducting other procedures that require precision and attention to detail

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have completed an accredited nursing education program and have ACLS, CTAS
  • The candidates should hold a current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • The candidates should complete CRNA Medication Administration Certificate, and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification if not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five years
  • The candidates should complete FREE NextGenU Health Assessment Resources course, NI Fundamentals of Nursing and Health Assessment Resources if have recently received CRNA permit, and have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last 5 years (excluding new graduates)

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being
  • The candidates should be able to utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, as well as teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families
  • The candidates should be able to play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance
  • The candidates should be able to provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS
