Alberta Health Services’ Oncology Program is a specialized initiative dedicated to the comprehensive care of cancer patients. Offering diagnostics, treatment planning, chemotherapy, and supportive services, the program ensures personalized and compassionate care. With a multidisciplinary approach, it focuses on both medical treatment and emotional support for individuals affected by cancer in Alberta region. Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of an accredited nursing education program
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should work to the full scope of practice, encompassing physical, mental, and emotional aspects, in a very busy and fast-paced Hematology/Oncology Unit
  • The candidates should have the ability to push, pull, and lift at least 50 lbs

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • The candidates should have Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) and recent acute care Medicine experience
  • The candidates should complete the following free courses, (CRNA Medication Management – Chapters 1 to 4) and (NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification) in case of no practice as a Registered Nurse within the last five years

  • The candidates should be able to utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making
  • The candidates should be able to teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families
  • The candidates should be able to play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance
  • The candidates should be able to provide safe, quality patient, and family-centered care, reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS
