Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should be eligible for Registered Nurse registration with a Canadian registered nursing regulatory authority
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the nursing field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be aware of potential exposures to plants and/or flowers, animals, latex products, second-hand smoke from residents/clients, heavy lifting 50 lbs and over, and bending
- The candidates should have the ability to operate across multiple levels of care and within a transdisciplinary environment
- The candidates should exhibit the ability to provide leadership, coaching, and training to members of the team
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have recently applied knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to provide professional care for residents by promoting their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being
- The candidates should possess effective oral and written communication skills and display excellent organizational skills
- The candidates should demonstrate excellent critical thinking, relationship building, and conflict management skills
- The candidates should have a strong understanding of working with various cultural backgrounds
- The candidates should possess TB screening, Vulnerable Sector RCMP security clearance, CPR Level C (completed within last 2.5 years), Food Safe Level 1 , Transportation of Dangerous Goods (complete within last 18 months)
- The candidates should possess WHMIS 2015, valid class 5 Drivers License, Home Care, and current registration with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to deliver care management and liaison with the medical community, providing direct nursing care such as education and treatment related to medical conditions, and performing other nursing duties
- The candidates should be able to provide resident-cantered care in a way that creates a feeling of home and belonging for all who live in Yukon Continuing Care facilities through responsiveness to the uniqueness of each Resident
- The candidates should be able to provide care to clients and families at end of life, performing tasks such as administering medication and providing emotional support
Benefits:
- The candidates will get a signing bonus of $7500 and yearly reimbursement for licensing fees
