Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have educational qualifications such as Baccalaureate degree in nursing
Experience: Candidates should have experience relevant to nursing practice in the community sector

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have completion of an accredited nursing education program and should be active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • The candidates should possess current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification and demonstrate organizational and leadership abilities
  • The candidates should have experience working with EPIC and possess strong communication skills
  • The candidates should have basic computer skills and have experience working on an acute neurological unit
  • The candidates should have TORBSST certification, have NIH certification and Experience in seizure monitoring unit
  • The candidates should have Canadian Nurses Association certification in Neuroscience Nursing

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide leadership in nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients and families
  • The candidates should be able to promote, maintain, or restore health and prevent illness, injury, and disability
  • The candidates should be able to tolerate constant walking, standing, kneeling, bending, reaching, and sustaining posture within a fast-paced unit requiring lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects greater than 50lbs
  • The candidates should be able to provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations while ensuring their safety and well-being
  • The candidates should be able to utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making
  • The candidates should be able to teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families
  • The candidates should be able to play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance
  • The candidates should be able to provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS
