Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of an accredited nursing education program
Experience: Candidates should have experience working with mental health, seniors’ health and home care or community and public health nursing

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have completed the ENPEP program
  • The candidates should possess 2-3 years of Emergency Department experience in Alberta within the last 2 years
  • The candidates should demonstrate an understanding of case management and experience collaborating with transdisciplinary teams and community partners
  • The candidates should have demonstrated continuing education in diversity and inclusion, mental health, and interdisciplinary care models
  • The candidates should showcase leadership development and experience, both formal and informal
  • The candidates should have completed CTAS training, Supportive Pathways training, Mental Health First Aid certification, and trained in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI)
  • The candidates should have completed ASIST training and have received palliative care education, specifically LEAP certification

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with the acute care allied team, home care, and community partners to support patients and families in a case manager capacity
  • The candidates should be able to support patient flow and movement through the ED to discharge or admission
  • The candidates should be able to play a key role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to the patient’s care, health promotion, and health maintenance, as well as act as a resource for nursing staff to draw upon
  • The candidates should be able to provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being
  • The candidates should be able to, in their role, utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, as well as teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families
  • The candidates should be able to play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance
  • The candidates should be able to provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS

Benefits:

  • The candidates will get Fort McMurray Northern Living Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480
