Niagara Health is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Registered Nurse-Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG). Niagara Health is a Canadian multi-site hospital amalgamation. Our hospital comprises five sites serving over 450,000 residents across the 12 municipalities. We are known for making up the Regional Municipality of Niagara, Canada. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible. This program supports new Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses who are within 12 months of registering with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) by providing them with a temporary full-time employment opportunity, above staffing complement to improve their transition into practice, and into full-time employment.

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language, having knowledge of both English and French language is an asset
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as being a graduate with a baccalaureate degree in nursing or a diploma from a nursing program in Canada, internationally educated nurses should have completed their nursing education outside of Canada
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to match with an employer on the NGG online portal within 12 months of registering with the CNO and also commit to accepting full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours with their NGG employer after completing the NGG program transition into practice period.
  • The candidate should be a member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and also must be eligible for the Nursing Graduate Guarantee Funding
  • The candidate should have current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification and also have the ability to demonstrate strong health assessment skills
  • The candidate should have demonstrated commitment to continuing education and personal development in nursing and must be willing to accept a Full-Time or Temporary Full-Time position with Niagara Health within one year.
  • The candidate should be able to apply knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe, independent and inter-disciplinary practice by meeting nursing practice standards as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario and related professional associations and also apply Niagara Health values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and service
  • The candidate should have the working knowledge of computers and be able to provide consistent and regular attendance
  • The candidate should be vaccinated (COVID-19 and others), vaccinations are requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code
