It provide intensive treatment and support to promote recovery and improve quality of life. Through personalized care plans and multidisciplinary approaches, it address diverse psychiatric conditions and challenges. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Shift: 12 hour shift rotation and Weekend Work

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should be registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and possess a current B.C.L.S. (CPR) certificate
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to make behavioral observations and assessments, including mental status and physical assessments, monitoring patients’ response to pharmaceutical and other care interventions, ongoing documentation, and communication with other team members
  • The candidates should possess sound knowledge of crisis intervention, psychosocial rehabilitation, severe and persistent mental illness, and Schizophrenia
  • The candidates should excel in performing assessments, developing, implementing, and evaluating interdisciplinary client-centered care plans
  • The candidates should support and contribute to a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork, and complies with all applicable regulatory requirements
  • The candidates should possess, or be currently pursuing, a B.Sc.N and CNA certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing
  • The candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop the Nurse-Client therapeutic relationship and work within a collaborative and diverse inter-professional team
  • The candidates should demonstrate effective leadership, decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving skills and have computer literacy
  • The candidates should have a demonstrated ability to intervene effectively in clinical situations requiring the prevention and management of disturbed behavior
  • The candidates should be able to work with clients of diverse cultural and social backgrounds and have psychiatric nursing experience with individuals with mental illness and/or addictions

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide client-centered psychiatric and general nursing care
  • The candidates should be able to ensure the safety and security of the client care environment
  • The candidates should be able to practice in accordance with College of Nurses of Ontario professional standards, Canadian Standards for Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing, the CAMH Practice Model of Care, CAMH Policies and Procedures, and other relevant Legislation and Regulations
  • The candidates should be able to perform ongoing assessments, develop, implement, and evaluate the inter-professional plan of client care for clients with Schizophrenia
  • The candidates should be able to liaise with other services in the Complex Care and Recovery Program and community agencies to coordinate care for clients
  • The candidates should be able to work with clients from diverse populations, contribute to program development, provide education support and supervision to students, and participate in the research activities of the program
