Position: Registered nurse (R.N.)

Salary: $36.93 to $43.75 hourly for 60 to 75 hours bi-weekly
Employment Type: Permanent employment – Full time
Location: St. John’s, NL
Shifts: Evening, Night, Weekend, Morning
Work Setting: Hospital or home for the aged
Security and safety: Adult Abuse Registry check, Criminal record check, Immunization records, Tuberculosis test

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates must have standard education such as a bachelor’s degree.
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate, Licensure as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities
Supervision: 5-10 people

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and Physically demanding
  • The candidate should be willing to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.
  • The candidate should be able to do manual dexterity

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be accurate and able to work with being focused on the client
  • The candidate should have excellent oral communication
  • The candidate should be initiative, judgemental, reliabile and a good team player.

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions and also Monitor, assess, address, document and report symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions
  • The candidate should be able to Provide nursing care, Collaborate to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care and also Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician
  • The candidate should be able to Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff
  • The candidate should be able to deliver health education programs and deliver immunization programs
