ALTITUDE HEALTHCARE SERVICES offers a wide range of healthcare services to clients in the Kenora region, including personal care, medication management, wound care, palliative care, and respite care. Our team of healthcare professionals includes registered nurses, personal support workers, and other allied healthcare professionals who work together to ensure that our clients receive the care they need in the comfort of their own homes. Job Description:

Position: Registered practical nurse (R.P.N.)
No of Vacancies: 1
Salary: $29.29 hourly 30 to 60 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Kenora, ON
Work setting: Hospital/medical facility or clinic, Nursing home/home for the aged


Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years’
Credentials: Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records
Area of specialization: Geriatrics, Medical unit

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, be physically demanding, and a repetitive tasker
  • The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to sit, stand and walk for extended periods
  • The candidates should be willing to for overtime
  • The candidates should be able to do manual dexterity
  • The candidates should be able to distinguish between colours and  to do sound discrimination

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be accurate, client focus, dependable, organized, initiative, flexible, reliable, and judgmental
  • The candidates should have values and ethics, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, interpersonal awareness, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position


  • The candidates should be able to administer medication and observe and document therapeutic effects
  • The candidates should be able to take vital signs, apply aseptic techniques including sterile dressing, ensure infection control, monitore nutritional intake and conduct specimen collection
  • The candidates should be able to provide safety and health education to individuals and their families
  • The candidates should be able to provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures
  • The candidates should be able to monitor patients’ progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of healthcare team
