Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have bachelor’s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in a research laboratory environment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to lift, carry, or push weights of 10kg-25kg daily
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should play an integral role in helping coordinate the activities and operations of multiple qualitative and quantitative research studies in support of Drs. Jacqueline Beaudry and Vasanti Malik’s research
- The candidates should possess strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, enabling them to assess the operational needs of our labs including equipment and resources
- The candidates should have experience with preparing and assembling lab material and supplies, and setting up and troubleshooting equipment used for teaching and/or research in the laboratory
- The candidates should have experience with the safe handling of specialized lab equipment and materials when working with others
- The candidates should possess excellent knowledge of sterilization procedures, cleaning standards, and required maintenance for the lab
- The candidates should have experience preparing draft statistical reports and summaries
- The candidates should be familiar with cost estimates and ordering supplies for the lab
- The candidates should have strong research and analytical skills
- The candidates should possess strong knowledge of specialized lab equipment and health and safety protocols of research spaces
- The candidates should have strong knowledge of maintenance, security, and safety practices
- The candidates should have experience creating and maintaining positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders including faculty, staff, vendors, and administrative staff
- The candidates should be meticulous, problem solvers, self-directed and organized
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to construct proof of concept experiments to test different elements of the process
- The candidates should be able to schedule day-to-day project activities and monitor the use of lab equipment and resources
- The candidates should be able to collaborate on cost estimates and order supplies with approval
- The candidates should be able to serve as a technical resource on laboratory protocols, experimental procedures, and equipment
- The candidates should be able to liaise with service providers to resolve any issues with malfunctioning equipment
