Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a health care setting

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA)
  • The candidates should possess current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assess patients (clients, residents) and develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans while monitoring their progress
  • The candidates should be able to operate and manage various diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory equipment and interventions
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with diverse clinical teams and groups to support and enhance positive clinical outcomes
  • The candidates should be able to provide training and support to health care providers in the proper use and maintenance of respiratory equipment
  • The candidates should be able to educate patients and their families about respiratory diseases, medications, equipment, and treatments
