Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have successful completion of at least one (1) year of a recognized university or college program in Engineering
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be physically capable of performing the duties of the position
  • The candidates should provide a Notice of Driver’s Licence In Force document upon request
  • The candidates should complete job-specific training required for this position as directed

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to use Microsoft Office products, including Access
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to use engineering software and/or possess basic knowledge of computer programming
  • The candidates should have knowledge of water systems and their operation and be familiar with the use of GIS software
  • The candidates should have the ability to interpret construction and record drawings and specifications
  • The candidates should possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s Licence

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist the branch in undertaking a variety of condition assessment-related projects for water infrastructure
  • The candidates should be able to support water planning and project delivery initiatives and decision-making through work with water modeling, GIS queries, field investigations, and record searches
  • The candidates should be able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, external contacts, and the public
  • The candidates should be able to work outside under sometimes unfavorable weather conditions
