Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of post-secondary education
Experience: Candidates should have three to five (3 to 5) years of combined experience with data and analytics

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work in a hybrid environment, with an onsite requirement at the Canadian Blood Services location 40% of the time (2 days per week)
  • The candidates should be available to work Monday to Friday, for 37.5 hours per week (7.5 hours per day)
  • The candidates should be willing to travel to Ottawa annually and as required, depending on their location

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have three to five (3-5) years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or equivalent experience in one or more business areas, such as Finance, Accounting, Planning, Donor Relations, Payroll, HR Reporting, Procurement, Supply Chain, or Inventory Management
  • The candidates should have experience in business process development and problem analysis and a proven ability and continued desire to learn new IT skills and enhance project management skills in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • The candidates should have strong documentation skills, including use cases, stories, business requirements, project plans, and training materials and develop and direct new programs and manage projects effectively and in a discipline from a recognized institution, preferably a University Degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, Financial Accounting, Economic and Statistics
  • The candidates should have strong communication skills, including writing and presentation abilities, with wide appeal to varying internal audiences and be aware that an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to leverage their proficiency in accessing data from various sources, such as relational databases, financial systems, and distributed data sources and lead the partnership of finance business units in the integration of data to support business insights, financial modeling, forecasting, and benchmarking
  • The candidates should be able to lead the creation of dashboards, self-served reports, and visualization solutions to measure business results and performance outcomes and prototype data sets used in financial reporting and analyze, design, implement, and interpret results using financial methods such as forecasting, modeling, audits, financial metrics, and KPIs
  • The candidates should be able to understand and translate strategic, operational, and tactical business needs to envision analytics and AI solutions delivered in an agile, iterative manner and work closely with business units to understand data requirements and provide improved business outcomes
  • The candidates should be able to act with minimal supervision as a trusted advisor and facilitator to business units, combining financial analysis with business understanding and apply senior expertise in quantitative and qualitative analysis to present data, advise, influence, and support decision-making
  • The candidates should be able to provide analytics results directly to business users, identifying trends and insights with high-quality and accurate deliverables and support the advancement and evolution of Canadian Blood Services’ data and analytics program and the Centre of Excellence and act as a champion and change agent for creating a data-driven mindset within the organization
  • The candidates should be able to lead the development of proposals and business cases for data and analytics initiatives and design and deliver a data literacy program to educate leaders and decision-makers on analyzing, interpreting, visualizing, and communicating data
  • The candidates should be able to interpret and communicate complex analysis and findings for a variety of audiences with minimal oversight and support corporate data governance practices
  • The candidates should be able to promote analytic usage and skills among management and employees through training, mentoring, and selecting appropriate analytics tools
  • The candidates should be able to maintain up-to-date knowledge of data, best-in-class methods, and analytic approaches relevant to advancing the organization’s products and goals
