Smitty’s Family Restaurant based in Sussex, NB is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Server – food and beverage services. Smitty’s Family Restaurant is one of Canada’s largest all-day family restaurant chains, operating from coast to coast. Our dining rooms are particularly popular among families with small children, seniors, and travelers. Our award-winning menu will appeal to everyone at the table. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Computer and technology knowledge: SQuirreL
Credentials: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate,
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- The candidates should be able to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be flexible, organized, reliable, initiative, should have efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, and be able to work as a team player
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to address customers’ complaints or concerns, present bills to customers and accept payment in cash, credit or debit cards, travelers cheques or room billings
- The candidates should be able to describe menu items including daily specials for customers, enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations, advise on menu selections
- The candidates should be able to balance cash and record sales, clear and clean tables, trays and chairs, describe and advise on wine selection
- The candidates should be able to greet patrons, present menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverages, serve food and beverages
- The candidates should be able to take orders and relay to kitchen and bar staff, provide customer service
