Salary: $20.15 hourly for 35 to 40 hours per week

Location: Union Bay, BC
Shifts: Day

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots 

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be proficient in handling repetitive tasks efficiently and accurately, capable of safely handling heavy loads as required by the job, and prepared for physically demanding tasks as part of the job requirements
  • The candidates should possess manual dexterity for precise and accurate task performance, demonstrate meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of their work, and have excellent hand-eye coordination for tasks requiring precision
  • The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods throughout the workday, be comfortable with bending, crouching, and kneeling as necessary for the job, and be able to handle weights of up to 23 kg (50 lbs) as necessary for their duties

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should exhibit flexibility, adapting readily to changing tasks, schedules, and environments, and be reliable, consistently fulfilling their duties and commitments
  • The candidates should be cooperative and effective team players, collaborating well with others

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to cut, clean, and trim fish or seafood prior to marketing or further processing, and transport fish and shellfish to the work area
  • The candidates should be able to disjoint and remove meat from lobsters or other crustaceans preparatory to canning or further processing, and weigh fish or shellfish, record weight, and pack fish in ice
  • The candidates should be able to clean machines and immediate work areas, and sort fish according to species, weight, and destination
  • The candidates should be able to dig shellfish from shellfish beds, clean, sort, and pack shellfish, and clean and maintain aquaculture enclosures
