Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have educational qualifications such as a Bachelors Degree
Experience: Candidates should have 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations experience
  • The candidates should have experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment
  • The candidates should ideally have Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS experience with a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people
  • The candidates should possess a Master’s degree and have experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organization
  • The candidates should be a Certified Safety Professional and have the ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders
  • The candidates should have strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to lead and develop a team of WHS professionals, including creating and executing leadership development plans for their teams
  • The candidates should be able to communicate team expectations, provide frequent feedback, and ensure the team is executing to the core competencies of an Amazon WHS professional
  • The candidates should be able to possess a thorough understanding of local, regional, and domestic regulations, as well as company policy, and ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon WHS Policies
  • The candidates should be able to lead initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for associates and be able to establish high-quality relationships with both site and regional leadership
  • The candidates should be able to measure the site’s performance against published requirements in EHS policies, identify deficiencies, and drive accountability for implementing and fixing all identified deficiencies
  • The candidates should be able to analyze WHS metrics and review incident trends to justify the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where WHS risk is highest
  • The candidates should be able to perform frequent site WHS audits to identify non-compliance equipment and/or processes, implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks, and prevent injury at other FCs
  • The candidates should be able to audit recordkeeping practices and WHS Information System entries to ensure compliance with global WHS standards and local regulations
  • The candidates should be able to audit workplace organization and associate behaviors to ensure that training, auditing, and scoring methods are accurate and consistent
  • The candidates should be able to ensure site leadership and associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy, and audit the quality, delivery, and effectiveness of all required WHS training
