Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a current Emergency First Aid and CPR certification
Experience: Candidates should have experience with planning and lesson plan creation
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be available to work evenings and weekends and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with program participants, volunteers, staff, and the public
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have completed Level 1 or an A course within the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), supplemented by relevant experience in skate instruction or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- The candidates should demonstrate proficient skating abilities and possess a thorough knowledge of ice skating skills and demonstrate effective leadership skills
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to create and deliver lesson plans based on the skating levels and progressions of each group and prepare evaluation forms and progress reports
- The candidates should be able to teach skating lessons to a variety of participants and provide excellent customer service
- The candidates should be able to ensure program participants have a positive recreation experience as part of the organization’s commitment as a HIGH FIVE® registered organization
