Work setting: Willing to relocate

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years
Credentials: Canadian Veterinary Medical Association Certification and licensure by provincial or territorial authorities

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have manual dexterity, showcasing skill in using their hands for various tasks and demonstrate effective hand-eye coordination
  • The candidates should be capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidates should be comfortable standing for extended periods and proficient in tasks involving bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • The candidates should be able to work efficiently under pressure
  • The candidates should be capable of lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks through physical examinations or laboratory tests
  • The candidates should be able to treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery
  • The candidates should be able to advise clients on feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene, and general care of animals and be responsible for the overall operation of an animal hospital, clinic, or mobile service to farms
  • The candidates should be able to supervise animal health technologists and animal care workers
