Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as registered Apprenticeship certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Tools
Credentials: Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate, Driver’s License, Sprinkler System Installer Red Seal Certificate, Sprinkler System Installer Trade Certification
Apprenticeship training: Level two apprenticeship training, Level three apprenticeship training, Level four apprenticeship training, Level five apprenticeship training
Security and safety: Basic security clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be physically demanding
  • The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to work in tight deadlines
  • The candidates should be able to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads
  • The candidates should be able to work at heights, and in noisy area

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be accurate, client focus, reliable, and judgmental
  • The candidates should have excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to liaise with management, engineers and other trades, connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment
  • The candidates should be able to install clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping system and sprinkler and fire protection equipment, using hand and power tools, installs valves, alarms and associated equipment
  • The candidates should be able to join pipes and piping sections using soldering and welding equipment, select, measure, cut, ream and thread pipe, install sprinkler heads and mount prepared pipe in supports, service and repair sprinkler system
  • The candidates should be able to test system for leaks using air or liquid pressure equipment, install supports, valves, piping and control systems, cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
  • The candidates should be able to measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size, remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
  • The candidates should be able to select type and size of pipe required, test system for leaks using testing equipment
  • The candidates should be able to weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system, read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
