Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have Teaching certification from Squash Canada’s Coach Certification Program or equivalent from accredited organization
Experience: Candidates should have minimum 1 year of coaching/instructional experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be a minimum of 16 years of age

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a current Standard First Aid / CPR C certification from an accredited organization, or have the ability to obtain it within 1 month of the date of hire
  • The candidates should possess High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development or Sport Certification
  • The candidates should demonstrate exceptional customer service and communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to plan, organize, and implement high-quality squash lessons for participants of all skill levels, ensuring the program is stimulating and enjoyable
  • The candidates should be able to keep abreast of industry trends and new class formats to continuously improve the program
  • The candidates should be able to provide excellent front-line customer service by greeting and engaging participants and communicating effectively about lesson opportunities and accident prevention
  • The candidates must be able to maintain constant vigilance while on duty to respond promptly to any emergency situations
  • The candidates should be able to supervise and mentor volunteers and assistants to ensure the smooth operation of the program
  • The candidates should be able to complete administrative duties in a timely manner, including attendance, incident/accident reports, and opening and closing procedures
  • The candidates should be able to maintain a safe and tidy program space, including appropriate setup and storage of equipment, to ensure participant safety
  • The candidates should be able to report all concerns, accidents, and incidents to the immediate supervisor for follow-up and take appropriate action as needed
  • The candidates should be able to maintain an understanding of department programs and services and adhere to corporate policies and procedures, confidentiality guidelines, emergency procedures, and health and safety standards for all participants and staff
  • The candidates should be able to attend meetings and training sessions as required to stay informed and updated on program requirements and changes
