Salary: $17.40 to $24.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 36 to 44 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Surrey, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, Flexible Hours, 09:00 to 21:00
Work setting: Supermarket and meat department, Supermarket/grocery store
Work site environment: Cold/refrigerated
On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Equipment and machinery experience: Manual cutting utensil, Power grinder, and Slicing machine
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- The candidates should be able to perform in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to maintain attention to detail and handle heavy loads
- The candidates should be able to perform physically demanding tasks and demonstrate hand-eye coordination
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be accurate, focus on the client, and be dependable
- The candidate should demonstrate efficient interpersonal skills, exhibit excellent oral communication, and have excellent written communication skills
- The candidate should be flexible, take initiative, and have good judgement
- The candidate should be organized, be reliable, and be a team player
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting and cut carcasses, sides and quarters
- The candidates should be able to cut, trim and prepare standard cuts of meat and wrap and package prepared meats
- The candidates should be able to remove bones from meat and weigh meats for sale
- The candidates should be able to cut poultry into parts and price meat products
- The candidates should be able to sell meats to customers and grind meats
- The candidates should be able to train meat cutters and prepare special orders
- The candidates should be able to prepare special displays of meats, poultry and fish products
