Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years’
Equipment and machinery experience: Feeding and watering system
Area of specialization: Swine
Security and safety: Basic security clearance, Driving record check (abstract)
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, be physically demanding
- The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads
- The candidates should be able to work in hog and pig farming, hog management, in odours, and in dusty area
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be organized, flexible, should have excellent oral communication, and be able to work as a team player
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to do feed inventory, handling animals, monitoring animal health, processing pig litters, weaning, and assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
- The candidates should be able to provide agricultural livestock services such as artificial insemination, spraying or shearing of livestock or disinfecting pens, barns or poultry houses, carry out a pasture or pen breeding programs
- The candidates should be able to co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers, ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
- The candidates should be able to maintain livestock performance records, maintain quality control and production records
- The candidates should be able to recognize and treat certain livestock health problems, supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs
- The candidates should be able to perform general farm duties
- The candidates should be able to organize and co-ordinate planting, cultivating and crop harvesting activities; raising and breeding of livestock and poultry
